The Paragon Series was designed directly with and for Neil Peart of Rush. The initial mock-up cymbals were created under Peart's ideas and instructions, with each concept being tested to his perfection at the factory they were made in the same day. The cymbal was cast, hammered and then tested by Peart. If he decided it wasn't completely perfect, he sent it back to be changed under his instructions. This is where the features of previous series' were used on the cymbals. Sabian took the best of their hand craftsmanship to create the perfect cymbal for Peart. Combining the pin-point lathing used throughout the AAX series on the top of the cymbal, the extensively hand-hammered bows and cups and the classic Turkish-style coarse lathing on the bottom.
