The Ibanez TS808HWB is the holy grail for overdrive enthusiasts. In the late 70s, the Tube Screamers established themselves as the supreme overdrive option and this loving recreation is the closest you'll get without finding an original. The TS legacy and sheer reverence for its thick-yet-clear tones were defined by the inclusion of the JRC4558 chips- the same chip that has been used in the 808HWB. Hand-wired with the highest quality OFC cable and with true bypass circuitry, this could even be an upgrade on the classic. All the character of the original, just built to a higher standard.

Upgrading the classic. The Ibanez TS808HWB is one for the tonal purists. When you hear the sound of an original 808 Tube Screamer, you’re left in little doubt as to why this effect has become so iconic and is now held in legendary regard. This is also the reason why originals are so rare and cost a very pretty penny. However, worry not as Ibanez has answered your prayers and have delivered an immaculate reproduction of the original, just with even better build quality.
Warmer than the TS9 and richer than the newer TS808, this is the quintessential Tube Screamer. The JRC4558D op-amp chip will draw attention as these are seen as an integral feature that makes the original so valuable. You'll be hard pressed to find a bad Tube Screamer but this was specifically designed to surpass and improve on an already near-perfect design. When you get hold of this pedal, you’ll instantly see what all the fuss is about. No more mods. One of the main modifications users have made to their TS808s over the years is to change from buffered to true bypass for better signal integrity and no colouration of tone when not engaged. Ibanez recognised this and in a brief departure from their truly authentic reproduction decided to improve the design in this way. This doesn’t change the tone at all when dialling in thick, rich overdrive tones, just gives you perfect clarity when you turn the effect off.
