Being sat at your drum kit, surrounded by microphones and stands can leave you feeling extremely cramped in. Zildjian helped solve this with the Zildjian Gen16 AE 368 Cymbal Box Set. This box set includes a 13'' hi-hat, 16'' crash, 18'' ride, a cymbal processor, a five-channel cable snake, and a mounting kit.
These cymbals produce 30-50 percent less volume than a regular cymbal but are very easy to amplify, thanks to the direct source system. What’s more is that feedback and ambient noise is now in the distant past! The direct source pickups process the signal at the source to ensure each cymbals sound is completely isolated from one another. With this, you achieve a deeper, richer tone. If you are unhappy with the tone however, you can adjust the entire thing using the system – which can be downloaded from the Zildjian website.

Not only do these cymbals give your sound a whole new sound, but they have some fun visual options as well. For instance, there are LED lights built into the pickups, which you can adjust with a choice of twelve different colours and six different animations. The LEDs also light up when you strike the cymbal.
Direct source pickups
The direct source pickups are attached to each cymbal, providing a full isolated and clean mix and preventing spillage and feedback. These pickups can also be used with regular acoustic cymbals, so you can amplify those in an isolated fashion as well.
Digital cymbal processor
The Digital Cymbal Processor is the brain of the Gen16 system and unlocks the revolutionary potential of this setup. Using the include Direct Source pickups, the Digital Cymbal Processor offers players an array of tone shaping options, including digital presets, effects and panning options. The module has stereo outputs that can be used for live sound and recording, as well as a headphone socket for monitoring and practice.
