When Fender say it's from the '70s, they mean it. The American Vintage II is decorated in several period accurate appointments to make it identical to an original. Most noticeably, there's the large headstock with dual string trees adorned with vintage-style "F" stamped tuners for an elegant appearance.
This feeds down to a bullet style truss rod nut and a neck plate with the Micro-Tilt adjustment mechanism for complete accuracy and stability. Added to that is the sublime retro feel and style offered by the gloss polyurethane finish applied to the neck, and you'll be hard pressed to find another Strat that boasts the same level of fidelity and authenticity.
Loaded with a trio of Pure Vintage '73 single coil pickups, the unmistakable classic Stratocaster voicings are instantly available to you on the American Vintage II. Fender have tuned these to replicate seventies sonics by using period correct materials, windings, and pole pieces.
You can expect an even, balanced response across the three pickups, with tonnes of chime and clear articulation. Thick, syrupy bass notes flow from the neck position, while the bridge supplies the airy, bright cut and quack that lead players love. Selectable through a 5-way switch, you can access a broad range of dynamics to suit almost any musical genre.
It looks classic, it feels authentic. You'll find it hard to put the American Vintage II '73 Strat down, because the original "C" shaped neck and gloss polyurethane finish slot so easily into your palm. Smooth and sleek, it'll feel wonderful to manoeuvre around the scales.
Topped by a 7.25" maple fretboard for a vintage vibe, you'll find thumb-over styles effortless, and quick chording a breeze.
Every component adds to the authenticity. The American Vintage II Stratocaster hosts a series of hardware that helps capture the essence of Fender tone and character. From its correct vintage style tuners that keep a tight grip on your strings, to its synchronised tremolo bridge with bent steel saddles, every part boasts an unmatched quality.
In unison, the bridge, bone nut and vintage-style tuners deliver a pristine resonance, letting each note ring out clearly with sustain and clarity to give your playing peak definition. And what's more, these premium appointments are set in to an original-style ash body for the nimble, lightweight, and comfortable Strat attack.
