Carving out riffs since the late '80s, John 5 has built an impressive musical portfolio that crosses several genres. From Rob Zombie to Lynyrd Skynyrd, he's not afraid to mix it up. And that's apparent in the blistering solos and spirited bluegrass runs he deftly performs, successfully creating his own guitarist identity. This individual style shows itself loud and clear on the Ghost signature, from its deathly white shade to its shred-ready maple fretboard and DiMarzio pickups.

A ghostly scream

This isn't a guitar that whispers quietly in the night, it howls, shrieks and screams! With a pair of deadly DiMarzio Activator humbuckers installed at the bridge and neck positions, it's positively bursting with beefy and harmonically rich tones.

DiMarzio voiced them to combat the "sterile edginess commonly associated with active pickups", which translates to a truckload more output and balanced frequencies squeezed into the humbuckers, as well as the bridge pickup boasting an increased volume to match the neck. In addition, you can expect tonnes of headroom for a rich and responsive pick attack. Playing hard lets the pickups roar without the limiting effect found on active electronics, and playing soft lets your tone clean up naturally.

Customised controls

Those pickups are backed up by a set of John 5 performance-oriented custom controls, letting you get your tone with minimal effort. Firstly, the traditional Tele pickup switch has been swapped to an easy access position on the upper bout, allowing you to quickly select your sound in the heat of battle. Over on the control panel, things have been made even more simple with a single master volume dial to set the levels, and an arcade-style kill-switch to engage rapid fire stutter effects.

And his Ghost signature Tele meets the requirements! With its custom John 5 neck profile shaped for ultimate comfort and modern style 9.5" radius for maximum versatility, you'll be fretting with freedom up and down the neck. And of course, the Super Stratocaster inspired painted fretboard creates a distinctive canvas for you to paint your melodies on!
