Fender have created the Koilcord by combining contemporary cable and jack plugs with retro-styled "curly" instrument cables for a taste of yesterday without the dissapointing performance of low grade components as was way back then.

The Fender Koilcord cables have the distinctive coiled cable voicing, but with a much quieter background noise performance resulting from a twisted pair design using separate signal and return conductors, in addition to a double shield over this. However, the stranding of these cables was optimised to compensate for the coiling, which adds inductance, and affects the sound.
