Key Features
Product Ref: 107705
The Martin OM21 Re-Imagined features a solid sitka spruce top which produces a versatile sound that is able to accommodate numerous genres and techniques with ease; from lighter fingerpicking styles, to heavier more aggressive strumming patterns. In addition, its stunning sitka spruce top also yields a crisp and articulate tone with a broad dynamic range, and a focused, clear sound of deep lows, warm mid-range, and bright singing highs. Furthermore, the solid top is accompanied by East Indian rosewood back and sides, which combined with its sitka spruce top provides the player with an incredibly balanced and versatile palette of tones. The iconic sound of rosewood also projects a rich warmth with superb resonance and volume, as well as a deep, warm bass response.
The OM21 Re-Imagined features a 000-14 fret body, similar in proportion to orchestra sized guitars. The OM21 provides the player with clarity and superb tonal balance across the spectrum with superior sustain across the top-register. Its mixture of timbers, 000-14 fret size/shape ad scalloped X-bracing, the OM21 is able to project a full, rich, and sonically-even tone, perfect for solo work or group jams. Furthermore, the OM21 Re-Imagined also provides a comfortable playing experience throughout both seated and standing performance due to its curvaceous shape, whilst its nipped in waist enables the player to hold the guitar close to the body for easier playability.
With a select hardwood neck and a high performance neck taper, the player is certain to adore the guitar's smooth and easy playability. Additionally, the neck's modified low oval shape offers a smooth and comfortable playing experience, ensuring players have a firm, comfortable, and secure grip up and down the neck. Its select hardwood neck is topped with an ebony fingerboard which adds a bright attack, superb sustain, and plenty of bite to the guitar's overall sound. Furthermore, the fingerboard is sprinkled with mother of pearl style 28 inlays for added elegance.
Equipped with scalloped X bracing, the guitar's overall structure is reinforced and prevents it from collapsing under string tension. Scalloped X bracing also enhances the guitar's sound, and allows the top to vibrate more freely yet remains incredibly stable. Scalloped bracing provides more emphasis to the bass response of the guitar and has been rewarded for enhancing the guitar top production, as well as providing superb projection and volume.
Plek Technology uses a computer-controlled machine that carefully measures each fret, along with the fingerboard height under each string. This innovative Plek Technology then automatically dresses each fret, virtually eliminating string buzz and greatly improving the overall playability of the guitar. This pioneering process does the same work in a matter of minutes in comparison to how long it takes a luthier to complete the same job which can take up to several hours, sometimes even days to accomplish.
The OM21 Re-Imagined features a real bone nut, which offers excellent resonance and sustain, along with an authentic appearance. A bone nut also delivers a very balanced tone, and will last a long time. In addition, this type of nut naturally self lubricates and helps you stay in tune for longer.
Please note: Martin do not ship their guitars with the strap button installed on the bottom of the guitar. They do this to avoid any impact cracks that may occur during shipping. You can find your strap button inside the case compartment.
