Multiscale performance
The S-457 uses a fan-fret multiscale layout to give different areas of its seven-string range the scale length they need. The longer scale on the bass side helps keep your heavier riffs feeling tight and articulate, making it particularly useful when you're working with the extended low range of a seven-string guitar. Moving towards the treble side, the shorter scale keeps lead playing feeling fluid and makes string bending easier. It's a clever combination designed to support both powerful rhythm work and technical lead playing on the same instrument.
Powerful Villain humbuckers
A pair of custom Spira Villain humbuckers gives the S-457 the powerful voice needed to make the most of its extended range. Arranged in an HH configuration, these pickups are designed to remain clear and punchy across the guitar, even when you're piling on the gain. That means low riffs can retain the articulation required for precise modern playing, while notes higher up the instrument remain strong and defined. Combined with the multiscale construction, the pickups help make the S-457 particularly well suited to modern rock and technical playing styles.
Roasted tonewood construction
The S-457 combines a roasted poplar body with an eye-catching spalted poplar top, giving the instrument a distinctive appearance that is designed to stand out on stage. This is paired with a roasted maple neck, which provides a stable feel in your hands as you move across the extended seven-string range. A maple fretboard completes the playing surface, with a 14" radius supporting the guitar's modern character. Together, these materials give the S-457 a premium construction to complement its multiscale design and powerful electronics.
Built for extended-range playing
Beyond its multiscale layout and high-output electronics, the S-457 provides a specification focused firmly on modern seven-string performance. Its fretboard carries 24 jumbo frets, giving you plenty of room for technical playing across the instrument's extended range, while the 48mm nut accommodates the seven-string construction. The maximum scale length reaches 26.5", supporting the tighter response on the lower side of the instrument. A fixed bridge completes the playing setup, while black locking machine heads provide practical hardware to accompany this limited-edition guitar's distinctive design.
