Building on the success of the original TANZBÄR, MK2 includes a wide range of upgrades and enhancements. One of the most prominent new features is the LCD display. This provides the basis for the hybrid architecture, providing the best of both analog and digital characteristics. It is comprised of eight analog and eight sampled sound, delivering the perfect balance of analog and digital percussion.
The bass voice has also been greatly expanded into a fully-fledged synth. The keyboard-style layout gives you the ability to create melodies with ease. It features a total of 16 voices in total, with a classic-style layout, reminiscent of iconic sequencers and drum machines.
In total, the drum machine includes seven analog percussion instrument, three digital samples voices and 10 sample instruments. The sample voices are accompanied by analog multifilters that add texture and flare to your sounds. This results in a richer and more varied sound palette, and can be highly useful for live performances.
Improving on the original design, the TANZBÄR 2 includes an expanded bass synth section. This anlog bass synthesizer is perfect for creating low-end melodies. It includes its own selection of waveforms which can be used to create rich and varied bass-orientated sounds.
The Bassline section features its own Decay, Cutoff, Resonance, Envelope, Waveform, Tune, Attack and Octave controls. The sound parameters can also be captured during step recordings, and each instrument includes its own dedicated slider. Each instrument features four different accents for varying your percussive sequences.
The TANZBÄR features an onboard step sequencer which can be programmed up to 64 steps. It provides you with 100 pattern slots which you can use to save and recall sequences. Each pattern has A, B, C and D variations. Also included is the ability to change from 16th notes to 16th or 8th triplets for versatile measures.
Flam and Shuffle functions are accompanied by four varied accents, allowing you make quick changes on the fly. This is perfect for live performances, adding variations and flare to your sequences and patterns.
In addition to the wide range of onboard options, the Drumcomputer includes a wide range of connectivity. The inclusion of the MIDI and USB connectivity allows use to use the drum machine with your computer and favourite DAW. You can incorporate your patterns and sequences into sounds and production for added flexibility.
There are 12 single outputs in total in the form of a mini jack. The 12 outputs are for each of the individual instruments allowing you to use them for external use with synths and other outboard gear. The drum computer can be synced via USB, MIDI or MIDI clock. It also includes a stereo output in the form a large stereo jack for outputting your sound.
