The Traktor MX2 is designed for DJs who want a direct and tactile mixing experience. Its two-channel layout features touch-sensitive jog wheels with Turntable and Jog modes, channel faders with level meters, and a responsive crossfader. The three-band EQs and gain knobs are clearly laid out for fast adjustments, helping you focus on the music instead of the screen.
Each deck includes eight RGB pads that let you control hotcues, loops, stems and patterns. The pad feedback and colour coding help you stay on track during performance. The MX2 also supports full MIDI mapping, so you can customise your setup for third-party software if needed.
MX2 comes with Native Instruments' flagship Traktor Pro 4 software. This gives you access to four virtual decks, precise beatgrids, flexible looping, and a powerful sync engine. The software also includes iZotope's Ozone Maximizer for loud, balanced output and automatic loudness control without distortion.
Traktor Pro 4 also brings advanced creative tools. Stem separation lets you isolate drums, bass, vocals and instruments from any track in real time. You can then use the mixer section to apply EQ, filter and effects to individual stems. With the Pattern Player, you can trigger rhythmic percussion kits and add texture and groove directly from the performance pads.
The MX2 includes access to more than forty studio-grade effects through Traktor’s Deck FX. Each deck has a dedicated FX unit, and the Mixer FX section provides one-dial access to effects like delay, reverb, gater and filter. You can layer and automate effects in real time, making transitions more dramatic and performances more dynamic.
The controller also supports four pad modes. Hotcue mode lets you jump to saved cue points. Stem mode allows real-time stem editing. Flux loops give you looping with auto-return. Step sequencer mode lets you build rhythmic patterns using built-in drum kits from the Traktor library.
Designed for portability, the MX2 features a compact, backlit design that works in low-light environments. Colour-coded buttons and assignable pad colours help you keep control during long sets. The controller is bus powered via USB-C, and plug-and-play connectivity makes setup quick for home, studio or club use.
The onboard 24-bit 96 kilohertz audio interface delivers high-fidelity sound. You get main outputs via RCA and mini jack, dual headphone outs in 3.5 millimetre and quarter-inch sizes, and a dedicated microphone input. This makes the MX2 adaptable to a wide range of speaker systems and monitoring setups.
New customers get two free months of Beatport Advanced streaming. This lets you explore and DJ with a massive catalogue of club-ready tracks without needing to download or organise a full library. Previews can be played directly from playlists for quick browsing and instant inspiration.
Traktor Pro 4 also supports Remix Decks, timecode vinyl control, MIDI clock sync and Ableton Link. This makes the MX2 a flexible controller that can grow with your setup as you develop your skills and expand your performance style.
