Key Features
The AJH Minimod DH-ADSR, Black is an envelope generator that offers a full ADSR envelope, delay-hold mode, re-trigger mode, and slow mode. It is a reinvention of the classic Model D synthesizer and retains the same envelope characteristics of its punchy attack and unique multiple key trigger behaviour. The Minimod DH-ADSR envelope generator allows full control over attack, decay, sustain and release, enabling you to fine tune your envelopes. The module also includes 3 additional features compared to their Minimod Dual Contour module. These allow you to generate complex waveforms, automatically re-trigger the envelope, and switch the envelope down to 1/5th of regular speed, making the DH-ADSR a powerful module that stands out against other regular envelope generators. It is the ideal module for both studio and live performance applications.

The AJH Minimod DH-ADSR retains the same characteristics of the Model D contour generators by using the same discrete transistor circuitry and internal voltages. This is what gives it its punchy attack and unique multiple key trigger behaviour. However, this module is not only just a clone of the Model D, the DH-ADSR exceeds the functionality by adding in a release control, and offering fully controllable ADSR envelopes. The DH-ADSR retains all the lovely punchiness and character from the Model D, with additional functions allowing you to create sounds that weren’t possible on the vintage Model D.
The Minimod DH-ADSR offers a true ADSR envelope, allowing each curve to be individually controlled. You can fine tune your envelopes to create either a punchy or smooth sound. When all switches are position up, it activates the regular ADSR envelope mode. In this position the pre-delay and hold controls have no effect, and a gate will generate a one shot ADSR. Additionally, they can be triggered manually with the trigger button above the release knob, ideal for auctioning sounds. Each knob for the ADSR allows you to choose between 10ms and 10 seconds.
The AJH DH-ADSR features a unique multiple key trigger behaviour. The ADSR envelope shares exactly the same speed and contour profiles as the Minimod Dual Contour Generator, which provides the punchiness. Unlike other envelope generators, the DH-ADSR doesn’t reset back to 0 when multiple keys are pressed rapidly. What happens is it partially returns and then increase to a higher level, resulting in an incrementally increases envelope. This is particularly useful when wanting to slowly increase the sustain of the envelope with multiple rapid key presses.
The module offers 3 additional modes. The first is slow mode. This can be used to slow down the attack, decay and release curves to 20 percent of their regular speed, allowing you to create slowly evolving envelopes. The delay-hold mode enables you to generate very complex waveforms. It features a pre-delay amount which lets you delay the start of the envelope by up to 10 seconds, and then control the gate (hold) time between individual triggers. This allows you to generate waveforms that are delayed and different in length. Re-trigger mode is similar to delay-hold mode. The difference here is that when the release curve gets very close to 0, the envelope is automatically re-triggered. This is ideal for generating repeated envelopes. It also has a very wide range, which enables it to be used as an LFO.
