Befaco Even VCO (8HP) Overview
A 10-position octave selector switch allows you to dial in your pitch with precision with the large potentiometers. It provides the ability to track between C0-C7. The ultra-precise tracking provides a stable frequency even when voltages are drifting. The result is a detune of a single cent, providing highly stable analog oscillation.
It also boasts integrated linear frequency modulation, with a range of waveforms. A unique waveform names after the module, provides added emphasises for even harmonics. The wide range of analog and CV connectivity makes it perfect for use with external audio sources.

The Even VCO from Befaco is the perfect oscillator module for sound design purposes. The module provides precision tracking, providing up to one cent per octave. The precise tracking ranges between C0 and C7 with a detune of one cent. C8 has four cents and C9 thirteen cents. The precision tracking combined with the analog circuitry delivers an exceptionally sweet tonality, unique to this module.
The rotary octave switch features 10-positions, providing a large potentiometer for selecting your tuning. The detuner range spans +/-7 semitones, making it ideal for a range of sound design applications. There are five waveforms in total including Triangle, Ramp, PWM, Sine and Even. The Even setting is unique to this module, providing a one-of-a-kind waveform, emphasising the even harmonics.
Linear Frequency and Pulse-Width Modulation
A linear frequency modulation input is included for use with external sources. The FM input allows you to control the Linear pitch, providing added depth for sound design applications. Also included is a smaller potentiometer which is used to control the pulse-width modulation.
These two parameters allow you to further sculpt and shape your sound with a rich and full-bodied sound.
Versatile Analog and CV Connectivity
Its sleek yet stylish faceplate features an ergonomic layout with each connection and control clear labelled. There is a smaller tuning knob for fine-tuning capabilities. The PWM knob is accompanied by a dedicated input. It also offers a wide range analog and CV connectivity, making it ideal for controlling and processing external input sources.
A Hard Sync patch point forces the core to reset in the event of a phase change at the input. Th e V/Oct provides two separate inputs for pitch control. This is then summed to the main octave selector and the tone control for added flexibility. There are also dedicated outputs for each waveform including: Triangle, Ramp, PWM, Sine and Even.
