360-Degree, 3D Audio Recording

The Edge Quadro from Antelope Audio is a powerful 360-degree condenser microphone featuring two large dual-membrane capsules. The two capsules are aligned perfectly, eliminating any phase-related issues. The specialised configuration is comprised of two 6-micron gold-sputtered dual-membranes.

The four membranes allow you to capture 360-degree audio recordings with exceptional sonic clarity. This stereo mic configuration features a rotating head. It also provides independent processing for each of the four channels, allowing you to employ various stereo techniques. Using the independent processing you can utilise recording techniques such as M/S, X/Y, Blumlein and even 3D sound. The 3D sound can also be great for virtual reality recordings and other audio/visual purposes.

The upper head of the Quadro can be adjusted without noise, allowing you to rotate the upper head whilst recording. The microphone can function with all polar pattern configurations including figure-8, cardioid, omnidirectional and anything in between.

The Edge Quadro comes complete with a range of high-grade microphone emulations. It features 18 mic emulations in total, comprised of some of the most sought-after microphones from music history. The emulations are designed to make your recordings sound like they were recorded on various classic microphones. For example, using the Berlin 47 FT emulation, you can achieve the authentic sound of one of the most popular microphones in history. The emulations range from classic vintage microphones, to modern-day mics.

Optimised For Use With Antelope Audio Preamps

The Antelope Audio Edge Quadro microphone is designed to be used with Antelope Audio's Discrete preamp interfaces. The interfaces feature FPGA Accusonic modeling. The software features detailed real-time emulations of classic condenser microphones. The software allows you to choose from an array of different mics to perform with. The Edge Quadro microphone can accurately emulate different polar patterns, off-axis response, and proximity effect, allowing you to get a different range of tones from one microphone.

What sets the Edge Quadro apart from everyone else is that it runs real-time on the FPGA. This means you can audition different microphones, and switch between them in real-time. It is especially handy if you already have a singer or performer in the recording booth, but don't want to keep changing microphones. Using the Accusonic 3D modeling software allows you to switch between different microphones, and microphone preamps.

Building on the success of the original Edge microphone, the Edge Quadro has a new visual identity, with its contemporary style design. The robust all-metal construction uses the highest quality components to achieve the studio-grade audio performance. The integrated mesh grille helps to protect the condenser capsule and other components.

The Edge Quadro comes complete with a range of premium-grade accessories. Included is a custom luxury shock mount designed to minimise outside noise and keep the microphone suspended. Two custom oxygen-free copper y-cables to achieve optimal signal transference resulting in optimal audio performance.

A beautiful handmade wooden case is also included for storing and transporting your microphone. The wooden case helps to keep the Quadro protected whilst on the move.
