Key Features
Product Ref: 72983
Inside the 44-A, the ribbon itself remains unchanged from RCA's 1930s model, but the remaining features have all been re-engineered to bring it up to modern day standards, and push it beyong them. It really offers a sense of the past, but simultaneously provides a clarity and performance you need for today's most demanding and intricate recording tasks. Its Cloudlifter class-A circuitry means a perfect signal and a pristine, transparent gain, and also retains all natural tone when using long and unruly cables.
The 44-A's switchable vocal/instrument response curves combine what would have been two microphones into one, and doesn't compromise on the quality of either. Versatility was obviously a huge factor during the design of the mic. The 'voice' setting instantaneously reduces the low end booms and pops that would result from getting too close, and can also be used to eliminate bassy rumbles when recording instruments at a close proximity. The 'music' setting is for when you need to capture the whole range of frequencies, including right down to bass response, to perfectly replicate the sound of your instrument unlike most other microphones.
