View Full DescriptionOriginally launched in the 1940s, the U48 has been known to record bands as large as The Beatles. The detail and fidelity that the U48 achieved meant it quickly became used for recording a number of instrument types from drums to chorus ensembles. The reissue remains loyal to its roots, using either cardioid or bidirectional polar patterns to record a variety of instruments. The U48 can be used for drum kit overheads, vocals, or an orchestral ensemble with equally high quality audio pickup. It has also been renowned for live recordings of bands due to its bidirectional pattern.
As well as the microphone itself, the U48 includes useful accessories to assist with your recording. The M940H powers your microphone with the traditional power output of the vintage model. To support this is the modern circuit board and slow ramping filament voltage, which helps prolong your tubes’ life and consistency. The M840H cable has high quality insulation and oxygen free copper conductors for a for premium audio transfer. The rugged FC40 flight case has split compartments to keep your microphone and accessories organised. The M740 shock mount keeps your microphone upright and stable in recording situations. The accessories are ideal to produce the optimum quality from your ELAM 251E microphone.
