Brand new vocal effect: Biovox

Understanding vocals down to a science, Biovox is a brand-new effect for VocalSynth 2. Scientifically modelling the human vocal tract, Biovox gives you unprecedented control over the tone of your vocal performance. Change parameters that range from nasality, vowel shapes, formants and much more! Opening doors for creative sound design, Biovox can be used to better fit a vocal performance to a mix or can be applied as a creative effect to surgically manipulate a vocal to something new.

Create your own sonic landscape

Creating a unique synth-like vocal is one thing, but having the ability to take this further and enhance your sound with stompbox modulators is another. Thankfully, VocalSynth 2 comes with a wide range of stompbox-style modules which can be dragged and dropped and re-ordered to create custom signal paths. Comprised of seven redesigned effects, VocalSynth 2 comes with Shred, Ring Mod, Chorus, Distort, Filter, Transform and Delay modules to provide you with the extra tone shaping to find the sound you're looking for.

Three ways to play

Designed to fit the needs of any style of producer or musician, VocalSynth2 has three different ways to use the plug-in. Auto Mode, MIDI Mode and Sidechain Mode are all provided, enabling you to best utilise VocalSynth 2 in your workflow, enjoying creative vocal synth production without compromising on your style.

In Auto Mode, you can get up and running on any track instantly, locking your vocals into key with real-time pitch correction, generating additional voices and harmonies and seamlessly blending your module settings with VocalSynth's intuitive mix panel.

MIDI Mode is ideal for live performers either on stage or in the studio as it lets you automate effects, harmonies and a variety of other parameters directly from any MIDI device. In this mode, you could create the classic sound of a talkbox or vocoder by manipulating your vocals with MIDI notes as you perform!

Create impossible sounds with Sidechain mode, sending your own audio into the plug-in as a carrier signal. Here you can use any audio signal to drive VocalSynth 2, going further than you thought was possible with conventional vocal processor plug-ins.

Inter plug-in communication

Just like other iZotope plug-ins, VocalSynth 2 communicates between other iZotope plug-ins in your mix, allowing seamless integration for essential production tools and analysis. Gain interactive, real-time visual feedback over your vocal processing in the Visual Mixer tab along with real-time frequency information displayed on the Masking Meter to ensure no instruments are competing for the same sonic space.

Enhance your sonic capabilities with free artist Expansion Libraries

Should the situation ever arise where you're not able to find the sound you're looking for, iZotope has included four exclusive artist preset packs, plus an extra pack developed by iZotope themselves.

The first pack is brought to you by Deezle and delivers an energetic, in-your-face sound that's ideal for morphing vocals, synths and drums into new territory for hip-hop productions. Jonny Hawkins of Nothing More has developed the second pack and encompasses a powerful, aggressive vocal texture that's perfect for alternative rock genres.

The third pack has been developed by Computer Magic and provides you with ethereal textures for extensive vocal manipulation that's ideal for contemporary synthpop genres. KillaGraham's expansion library is a diverse toolkit which ranges from gentle to over-the-top vocal processing. iZotope's pack is the last offering, delivering 15 new presets which does everything from subtle stereo vocal widening to powerful computerised harmonies.
